Cranberry Brown Sugar Scones

These delightful and festive cranberry scones are easy and come together in about 20 minutes – perfect for those mornings with company around the holidays.

Cranberry Brown Sugar Scones

2 C All Purpose Flour
1/3 C Brown Sugar
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 C full fat Greek Yogurt
8 T unsalted butter, cold
Half cup dried cranberries
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 large egg

Mix all dry ingredients in large bowl, or the largest bowl of a Cuisinart.   Add cold butter and cut in until crumbly.   In a small cup, whisk together yogurt, vanilla, cinnamon and egg.  Add wet ingredients and cranberries to dry ingredients and mix until pulled together.  Brush the tops of scones with egg white, and bake at 400 for 12 – 14 minutes.

This is what the scone dough looks like just as it pull together.

Some recommend cutting scones in a circle, but I prefer a long rectangle and then cutting diagonally.
