Game Day Donuts!

Baked donuts – these come together in about 15 minutes for game day!   Mine have Seattle Seahawks colors.

Baked Game Day Donuts

2 C Flour
2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2/3 C granulated sugar
Half Cup whole milk
Half Cup yogurt, plain full fat
2 eggs
4 T unsalted butter
1 T (yes, that’s a T) vanilla
sprinkles in your favorite team’s color
Glaze:
Half cup milk
2 C Powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 and spray your donut pans (available from Wilton) generously with a nonstick spray – I use the organic olive oil.  Whisk dry ingredients together.  In another bowl, whisk milk, yogurt, egg.   Add vanilla and melted butter and mix until combined.  Pour your wet mixture into the dry and mix until just combined.   Pipe (I highly recommend piping) into donut wells, about 2/3 full, and bake for 10 minutes until they are just slightly browned to the edge.  When donuts are baked, pop them out of the mold and allow them to cool.  While they are cooling, make your glaze and heat the glaze until just hot — slowly — over medium heat.  Remove from heat and dip each donut halfway into the glaze.   Sprinkle and eat!

donuts2I recommend using a piping bag (or you can use a ziploc with the corner snipped) for filling these
